About this event
The "33rd National Mountain Castle Summit in Shinshiro" will be held in Shinshiro City, Aichi Prefecture, commemorating the 450th anniversary of the construction of Shinshiro Castle. Bringing together municipalities and related organizations with mountain castles, this summit will be a valuable opportunity for history fans. On the first day, there will be a keynote lecture by Tetsuo Owada on "The Sengoku Period in the San-En Nanshin Region" and a symposium featuring Yoshihiro Senda and others titled "Mountain Castles in Eastern Mikawa: Centering on Shinshiro." On the second day, booth exhibitions by about 40 organizations, matchlock gun demonstrations by the Nagashino-Shitaragahara Teppo-tai matchlock troop, and a mini Kei-truck market will be held. In addition, reservation-required castle exploration tours—the Shinshiro Castle Course (walking) and the Tsukude Mountain Castle Course (bus)—will also be conducted. Furthermore, a commemorative lecture by historian Hiroyuki Shiba is scheduled to discuss the Okudaira clan and Nobumasa during the Sengoku period. Through this event, visitors can learn about the Sengoku period in the Shinshiro area through mountain castles and deepen their understanding of local history and culture.
