About this event
At the 20th Asian Games (2026/Aichi-Nagoya), which will be held from September 19 to October 4, 2026, the cricket competition will take place at Aichi Prefectural Korongi Sports Park in Nisshin City, Aichi Prefecture. The Asian Games is the largest sports festival in Asia held once every four years, contributing to international peace by fostering friendship through sports and embracing diversity. The 2026 tournament marks the third time the Asian Games will be held in Japan. In the cricket competition, the 'T20 (Twenty20)' format, which is becoming the global mainstream and concludes in about 3 hours, is scheduled to be adopted. In this format, each team bats and bowls for one inning limited to 120 balls, resulting in many aggressive and speedy plays, allowing spectators to fully enjoy the appeal of cricket. Specialized volunteers to support the tournament are also being recruited, providing an opportunity for experienced players and cricket enthusiasts to interact with athletes from around the world, experience diverse cultures, and share inspiring moments.
