About this event
Six gorgeously decorated festival floats are paraded throughout Kida to the lively festival music of flutes and drums. The decorative dolls mounted by each neighborhood district form a male-female pair, with each showing different expressions. In the afternoon, the floats gather at Yatsurugi Shrine for worship. This festival is held on the same day as the "Yunohana Shinji" ritual, which is designated as a cultural property of Ama City; after the Shinto ritual praying for good health and household safety, the sight of the floats parading through the town is spectacular. The sounds of bells and drums modeled after Kuwana's Ishidori Festival enliven the celebration even further.
