Held in Owase City, Mie Prefecture, the "Lighthouse Exploration and Mikisaki Tour: Owase Good Spot Discovery Trip 2026" is a walking tour visiting the hidden charms of Owase City. Walking through the forest with a guide, participants will visit the beautiful scenery of the rias coast and Nagabae Beach, which once served as a boat landing. Focusing particularly on the Mikisaki Lighthouse, which protects navigational safety, visitors can tour the interior of the lighthouse—which is normally closed to the public—and hear historical stories surrounding the lighthouse. Held in conjunction with Lighthouse Day, this tour allows participants to climb the lighthouse to feel the curvature of the Earth and enjoy the magnificent view of the Kumano Sea from Mikisaki in autumn. The tour also includes a visit to the Kinatoge Noroshinoba Ruins, where remains of the site used in the Edo period to transmit information by sending smoke signals can be seen. With a walking distance of approximately 5 km and a maximum elevation of about 250 m, it will be a fulfilling experience connecting with nature and history.
