📅 Sun, Nov 1, 2026 - Tue, Dec 15, 2026
📍 Omihachiman, Shiga
About this event
An autumn special public opening will be held at Kyorinbo Temple, a popular scenic spot for autumn foliage in Omihachiman City, Shiga Prefecture. The scenic garden featuring giant stones created by Enshu Kobori, the thatched-roof Shoin hall from the early Edo period, and the 3,000-tsubo temple grounds adorned with approximately 300 maple trees create a breathtaking spectacle. During this period, the unveiled viewing of the hidden Buddha Fudo Myo-o will also take place. Furthermore, from November 14 to December 6, an autumn leaves illumination event will be held from 17:30 to 19:30 (reception closes at 19:00), allowing visitors to enjoy the magical night garden. Note that the next public opening will not take place until Saturdays, Sundays, and national holidays in spring across April, May, and June.
