About this event
Held in Koka City, Shiga Prefecture, "Another Beauty Experience: 'Okudo-san' & Summer Vegetable Harvest Satoyama Program" is a program where participants can enjoy the nature of satoyama while experiencing cooking with a traditional "okudo-san" (earthen cooking stove) and harvesting summer vegetables. Instructed by staff from the NPO Shumei Natural Agriculture Network, participants can enjoy the valuable experience of cooking the fresh summer vegetables they harvested themselves on the "okudo-san." Through this program, visitors can rediscover the importance of food and the charm of satoyama. It is designed for the whole family to enjoy, from small children to adults. Capacity is 10 participants (children under 4 are not counted toward capacity). Participation fees include insurance and materials: 1,500 yen for adults, 700 yen for junior high and high school students, 300 yen for elementary school students, and free for preschool children.
