As an annual event of Minakuchi Shrine, the Setsubun Festival is held every year on February 3. In Reiwa 11 (2029), it is scheduled to be held on February 2. This festival is a traditional event aimed at warding off evil spirits (yakuyoke), where local people gather to pray for good health and protection from misfortune throughout the year. Minakuchi Shrine is a historic, community-rooted shrine located in Koka City, Shiga Prefecture. The Setsubun Festival is one of Japan's long-standing annual traditions, commonly featuring rituals such as bean throwing (mamemaki).
