About this event

This is a hiking event visiting the ruins of Mikumo Castle, where Sarutobi Sasuke is said to have trained. Visitors can immerse themselves in the atmosphere of the Sengoku period while touring the remaining stone walls, wells, and other features. The course covers approximately 11 km, starting from JR Mikumo Station, passing Mikumo Castle Ruins, a lunch break at Yoshinaga Community Center, the Tempo Gimin Monument, and the Joyoto Lantern before returning to JR Mikumo Station. Participants will gather at JR Mikumo Station at 9:30, with dismissal scheduled around 14:30. Participation is free, and no reservation is required. The event will be canceled if a weather warning is issued for Konan City, but will proceed in light rain. Participants are advised to bring their own lunch, water bottle, and rain gear, wear comfortable clothing and well-worn shoes, and carry a backpack to keep both hands free. Participation requires traveling via the JR Kusatsu Line on the day.
