Kyotanabe "Ninth" Concert 2026

About this event

The "Kyotanabe 'Ninth' Concert 2026," held at Doshisha Women's College Niijima Memorial Hall, will feature Beethoven's Symphony No. 9 in D minor, Op. 125 (with Chorus) as its main program. In the second stage, members of the Kyotanabe "Ninth" Choir will participate and resonate with powerful singing voices. Additionally, choral pieces from Handel's "Messiah" will be performed in the first stage. Conducted by Hiroshi Sekiya, the orchestra will be performed by the Doshisha Women's College Department of Music Orchestra, featuring soprano Ryoko Nagano, alto Daishi Takeoka, tenor Iwao Onuki, and baritone Toshinori Inoue. Admission is free, but a numbered admission ticket is required for entry. Numbered tickets will be accepted via an application form from August 1 to September 30, limited to the first 500 applicants. Preschool children are not admitted.
