Sennan City Autumn Festival & Yagura Parade

Held in various parts of the city at the beginning of October every year, the Sennan City Autumn Festival & Yagura Parade is a lively festival celebrating the autumn harvest through the pulling of danjiri floats (yagura) that inherit local traditional performing arts. Visitors can savor the unique autumn festival atmosphere of southern Senshu. In particular, the sound of the yagura drums is deeply powerful, boasting a long history said to date back to the mid-Tokugawa period when the drumbeats of the Tarui yagura echoed all the way to the villages of Shindachi. In 2026 (Reiwa 8), the autumn festival will be held on Saturday, October 10 and Sunday, October 11. Information regarding the yagura parade will be announced in the event corner once finalized. This festival offers a valuable opportunity to deeply experience local culture and traditions.
