About this event
On Sunday, November 15, 2026, the 'Tookashi Matsuri' will be held in front of the worship hall of Nishinomiya Shrine in Nishinomiya City, Hyogo Prefecture. This event is a special occasion where 11 Japanese confectionery shops from within the city gather together to sell 'tookashi'—votive sweets distributed to worshipers on the 10th of every month at Nishinomiya Shrine. Original Japanese sweets elaborately created each month by each shop will be lined up, allowing visitors to taste the entire year's 'tookashi' at once. It was so popular last year that it sold out in just 45 minutes from the start; with visitors able to thoroughly enjoy the traditional Japanese spirit and craftsmanship unique to Nishinomiya poured in by confectioners, it bustles with many attendees. Sales run from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM, but early arrival is recommended as it ends as soon as items sell out. The event will be cancelled in case of rain, and decisions will be announced on the official Instagram. Why not take this opportunity to experience Nishinomiya's historic Japanese confectionery culture?
