About this event
Held in Itami City, Hyogo Prefecture, "Kampai with Sake! 2026" will take place on Saturday, October 3, 2026, in honor of "Sake Day" on October 1. The venue is the parking lot of Shirayuki Brewery Village Chojugura (3-4-15 Chuo, Itami City), open from 12:00 to 16:00 (held in light rain, cancelled in severe weather). At the event, kagami-biraki (sake barrel breaking) and ceremonial free sake distribution will be held multiple times, with the first 100 participants at the 12:00 session receiving an original wooden masu cup as a gift. In addition, a special lecture titled "Transform Your At-Home Drinking Today! A New Way to Appreciate Sake Taught by the Former Director of Japan Sake and Shochu Information Center" by Mr. Shuzo Imada, former director of the Japan Sake and Shochu Information Center, will be held. Other programs offering a full appreciation of Japanese sake include a quiz competition, tasting set sales featuring four sake brands from Okamura Sake Brewery, Oimatsu Sake Brewery, and Konishi Brewing, limited sales of sake aged at Aono Dam, and the sale of mystery lucky bags. The event is organized by the Itami Sake Brewers Association and supported by Itami City and the Osaka Regional Taxation Bureau. Since parking and bicycle parking at Chojugura will not be available on the day, visitors are encouraged to use public transportation.
