36th Rishiri Island Around-the-Island Fureai Cycling 2026

About this event

This event allows participants to enjoy cycling at their own pace while feeling the sea breeze and grand nature of Rishiri Island. The "Rishiri Saikuru Road" course of about 60 km, connecting the cycling path and general prefectural roads, goes around Rishiri Island. Participants can choose between Rishirifuji Town venue or Rishiri Town venue as their starting point; starting from the Rishirifuji Town venue is convenient for participants from outside the island. Every year, many participants gather from inside and outside the island aiming for the goal. Subsidies for bicycle ferry transportation fees for the return trip (to Wakkanai or Kafuka) on the day of the event and the following day are also available. You can have an exhilarating experience running around Rishiri Island while viewing Mt. Rishirifuji and feeling the sea breeze. Caution is required as the passage width is narrow in some parts of the course due to bicycle path construction work. A certificate of completion will be presented to finishers. There is also a town-operated hot spring facility near the goal, perfect for refreshing after cycling. A hill climb time race will also be held the day before.
