About this event

This autumn, the Autumn Special Exhibition 'Surviving the Era of the Taiko: The Oda and Kyogoku Clans - Traces of Kunigae' will be held in Tamba City. Themed around kunigae (relocation of feudal lords), the exhibition explores the historical background of domain transfers and the path walked by both families through heirlooms of the Oda clan preserved in Tamba City and items on loan from the Kyogoku clan in Marugame City, Kagawa Prefecture, and Tatsuno City, Hyogo Prefecture, among other places. Focusing on the domain relocation of the Oda clan of the Kaibara domain and the Kyogoku clan of the Marugame domain during the Edo period, items passed down in both families will be exhibited. Set against the backdrop of Toyotomi Hideyoshi's era, the strategies and ways domain founder Oda Nobukatsu, Kyogoku Takatsugu, Kyogoku Tadataka, and others survived will also be presented.
