Held in Ikuno-cho, Asago City, Hyogo Prefecture, "Gintani Festival" is an event recreating the historic bustle of a retro mining town designated as a Japan Heritage site. Using the entire townscape as its venue, visitors can enjoy a nostalgic yet stylish atmosphere while touring houses and historical facilities. The event features diverse entertainment including the Mini One-Yen Train, Classic Car Plaza, painting and currency exhibitions, a townscape photo exhibition, and nostalgic picture-story shows (kamishibai). Hands-on activities are also plentiful, such as character-collecting games and the Silver Carriage Road Stamp Rally. This festival marks a special day in the mining town where preserved heritage landscapes and newly emerging culture connect across time into the future.
