In the summer special exhibition "Hyogo Archaeological Excavation News 2026: Time Travel with Hottan!" held at the Hyogo Prefectural Museum of Archaeology, the latest results of excavation surveys conducted by the Hyogo Prefectural Board of Education in fiscal year 2025 (Reiwa 7) and sites whose reports were published through the organization of unearthed artifacts will be unveiled. In addition to showcasing masterpieces of ancient Chinese mirrors in the collection of the Kasai Branch "Ancient Mirror Exhibition Hall", archaeological quizzes by the museum mascot character "Hottan" and touchable exhibits are also featured, thoughtfully designed so visitors can have fun learning about the world of archaeology. During the exhibition period, lectures such as "The Forgotten Kiln - The Tsumai Early Modern Kiln Ruins", "Excavation Survey Bulletin Session", and "Ancient Chinese Metalwork History Seen from the Sengoku Collection", as well as the free-admission "Summer Festival at the Museum of Archaeology" and backyard tour will be held, allowing visitors to experience the appeal of archaeology from various angles.
