4th National Sign Language Dance Koshien

About this event

This competition brings together sign language dance teams from across Japan, aiming for people with and without hearing impairments to enjoy themselves and interact together through dance that expresses the meaning of lyrics using sign language and full-body movement. In this edition, preliminary rounds were held across 7 regions nationwide, and approximately 20 winning teams will take the final stage. Opening at 13:00 in the Main Hall of Fukusaki Town Erde Hall, participants gathered from all over Japan will present their heartfelt sign language dances and compete for the championship. On the same day, the "Mochimugi Expo 2026," which promotes local food and regional charm, will be held concurrently, featuring numerous food trucks selling creative dishes made with mochimugi (glutinous barley), a signature specialty of Fukusaki Town. On Autumn Equinox Day, you can enjoy national-level performances on stage at Erde Hall along with the unique culinary appeal of Fukusaki's mochimugi. Many visitors are expected to attend this event, which serves as a venue for interaction across generations and regions.
