About this event
A special worship event themed around 'nui-katsu' (plushie hobby culture), which has become widely popular across all generations in recent years, will be held at Takamine Shrine in Kamigori Town, Hyogo Prefecture. This is a novel prayer plan where visitors convey daily gratitude and connect emotionally with the stuffed animals that serve as their emotional support. Combining the tradition of doll memorial services (ningyo kuyo) with modern plushie culture, plushies are also treated as subjects of prayer at this event. On the day, in addition to prayers inside the worship hall dedicated to the main deity Susanoo-no-Mikoto, photo opportunities will be provided on the shrine grounds. The gift items include a limited-edition goshuin seal made of special light-transmitting material, designed as an element to visualize the memory of the shrine visit. This event is an attempt to explicitly present the intersection between personal emotion and faith practices, reflecting how the meaning of worship is shifting from physical objects to relationships.
