About this event
The "32nd Moon Viewing Evening" will be held in Sayo Town. This year's Jugoya (night of the full harvest moon) falls on September 25. Matching this beautiful night, this event offers a soothing moment during the long autumn night. At the venue, traditional Japanese performing arts such as hogaku music, dance, and shigin recitation, as well as haiku and tanka readings, will be presented. Visitors can also enjoy exhibitions of Minada washi paper andon lanterns and oshie (padded fabric pictures). A bowl of tea can be enjoyed at the tea ceremony seating for 300 yen, available starting at 5:30 PM. In addition, an astronomical observation gathering is held concurrently, allowing star gazing from around 7:00 PM. Admission is free.
