Held in Kami Town, Hyogo Prefecture, the "Kami Town Mountain Traverse Route 2-Day Trek" is an event where participants can visit four mountains over two days and one night to fully enjoy the rich nature of Kami Town. Surrounded by 1,000-meter-class mountains and facing the Sea of Japan, nature-rich Kami Town has recently seen ongoing trail maintenance, enabling many people to enjoy the allure of the mountains. In this event, participants can experience a diverse trekking route featuring powerful views from four distinct peaks—Mt. Sobu, Mt. Shirasuga, Mt. Hachibuse, and Mt. Torokawa—as well as an approximately 1-kilometer straight trail near the summit, soft ridgelines covered with fallen leaves of varying widths, dotted natural beech forests, and surprisingly steep inclines. Additionally, the 2026 (Reiwa 8) trek offers special content, including selectable accommodations (raised-floor tents or outdoor center lodging buildings), a campfire (optional participation), hiking a portion of the 2026 Inter-High School Mountain Climbing Competition course, passing through the Ghibli-esque "Mononoke Forest" and Shoryu Falls, and traversing the snowless Hachi Kita Kogen Ski Resort. The total walking distance is 26.5 kilometers with a cumulative elevation gain of 2,300 meters. Participants will be divided into an advanced/fit group and a general group, allowing them to enjoy the climb according to their physical fitness. Participation is open to junior high school students and above; however, due to the strenuous nature of the climb, junior high school students must be accompanied by a guardian.
