17th Shin-Onsen Town Kishida River Ekiden Race

About this event

The Shin-Onsen Town Kishida River Ekiden Race is a competition aimed at promoting sportsmanship and improving physical fitness through relay running while passing a sash (tasuki). Six divisions are established: General, Women's, Junior High & High School Boys, Junior High & High School Girls, Elementary School Boys, and Elementary School Girls, each running through designated courses starting and finishing at Hamasaka Sun Beach. The course distance is 9.5 km for the General and Junior High & High School Boys divisions, and 7.5 km for the Women's, Junior High & High School Girls, and Elementary School Boys/Girls divisions. The entry fee is 2,000 yen per team, but free for elementary, junior high, and high school students. The event will proceed rain or shine, but will be canceled in case of severe weather. The participating team representatives (managers) meeting will be held on Monday, October 5 at 19:30 in the 2F Hall of the Hamasaka Multi-Purpose Assembly Facility. The application period is from Thursday, July 23 to Friday, September 18.
