Reiwa 8 Autumn Special Exhibition at Ikaruga Cultural Property Center: "The Splendid Royal Family – The Glory and Tragedy of the Jogu Royal Family"

About this event

In connection with Reiwa 8 (Year of the Horse) and the fact that Prince Shotoku was also reportedly born in 574 (a Year of the Horse), this exhibition focuses on Prince Shotoku and his clan, the "Jogu Royal Family," as well as figures closely associated with him, such as Empress Suiko and Soga no Umako. Through archaeological sites and excavated artifacts related to these figures, the exhibition presents the rise and fall of the Jogu Royal Family. Exhibits include precious items excavated from the ruins of Ikaruga Palace, the ruins of Wakakusa Garan, the ruins of the Jogu Site (Akinami Ashigaki Palace Site), the ruins of Chuguji Temple, and Horinji Temple. Please note in advance that during the special exhibition period, the scale of the exhibition regarding the Fujinoki Tomb will be reduced.
