About this event
A spirited festival that enlivens Inami Town, where the powerful chants of local youth echo throughout. At Inami Hachiman Shrine, a sacred ritual takes place where four festival floats (yatai) and portable shrines (mikoshi) cross into the river. Furthermore, at Yamaguchi Hachiman Shrine, in addition to the heroic procession of seven floats and portable shrines, traditional Saiga Odori dance and Lion Dances (Shishimai) are dedicated, allowing visitors to feel the local culture and tradition firsthand. This festival is also known as "Inami Hachiman's Jubako Lion and Festival," a designated Intangible Folk Cultural Property of Wakayama Prefecture, and provides a valuable opportunity where local history and tradition come alive.
