Bosai Kokutai 2026 in Tottori

About this event

'Bosai Kokutai 2026 in Tottori' is one of Japan's largest disaster prevention events, aimed at encouraging every citizen to view disaster prevention as a personal matter, leading to everyday preparedness and enhanced community disaster resilience. It will be held at Kurayoshi Park Square on Saturday, October 17 and Sunday, October 18, 2026. The venue is packed with content to learn about disaster prevention in a fun way by seeing, eating, and experiencing. In the 'Disaster Prevention Industry Exhibition Area', which introduces the latest disaster management technologies, booths will feature damage assessment systems utilizing satellite data and AI, MUJI's 'Itsumo no Moshimo' approach to everyday disaster readiness, and mont-bell's booth offering items and insights on how outdoor gear aids disaster preparedness. Additionally, the disaster drill and experience area features approximately 60 booths for children and adults alike, including disaster preparedness games and crafting by the Japanese Red Cross Society, exhibits and hands-on trials of equipment used in evacuation shelters, simulated disaster experiences using VR, drone piloting trials, water discharge experiences using real fire hoses, and a giant cardboard maze. A wide variety of hands-on content is prepared to serve as an opportunity for families to think about disaster preparedness at home.
