14th National Roadside Station (Michi-no-Eki) Symposium in Rumoi

About this event

Under the theme "Toward the Realization of 'Town-wide' Roadside Stations: Where Towns and Roadside Stations Planned and Integrated Aim to Go," Roadside Station (Michi-no-Eki) stakeholders will gather in one place to contemplate and discuss their roles in regional revitalization and future prospects. Based on the midterm review of the Roadside Station "Stage 3" and its future direction, discussions will be held on measures for roadside stations to collaborate with diverse local stakeholders and achieve sustainable development integrally with towns. Using case studies such as the "Support Package Roadside Stations" as themes, participants will delve deeper into redefining regional value and strategies and practices for implementation through keynote lectures and panel discussions. On the same day as the symposium, a "Roadside Station Festival" will also be held, featuring stalls from about 30 roadside stations primarily within Hokkaido to showcase local specialties and regional charms. Corporate exhibitions and roadside station panel exhibits will also be held to introduce the latest items and technologies aimed at the further development of roadside stations, along with the initiatives and appeals of each station.
