Held in Iwami Town, Tottori Prefecture, 'Free! Series x Iwami Town 2026 -Beyond the New Journey-' is a collaboration event between the popular anime series 'Free!' and Iwami Town. In Iwami Town, which served as the model for the series' setting, various projects will unfold allowing fans to deeply immerse themselves in the world of the work. The main event will take place across various locations in Iwami Town from Saturday, October 10 to Monday (national holiday), October 12, 2026. A particular highlight is 'Special Starting Days in Iwami Junior High School,' held at Iwami Junior High School. Here, at the school that served as the location model for Iwatobi Junior High School in 'High Speed! -Free! Starting Days- The Movie,' cast members will hold a mini live reading and a handshake event. Furthermore, on Sunday, October 11 and Monday (national holiday), October 12, guided tours of the school's swimming pool and gymnasium will be held, providing a precious opportunity to actually visit the locations featured in the work. In addition, the 'Free! x Iwami Town Special Talk Show' will take place on Saturday, October 10, featuring the Mayor of Iwami Town and production staff members on stage. At the venue, sales will include original merchandise featuring newly drawn illustrations set against the backdrop of Iwami Town, local specialty products of Iwami Town, and commemorative event goods. Restaurants and cafes in Iwami Town will serve collaboration menus and drinks themed after 'Free!', allowing visitors to enjoy the world of the series through food as well. Photo greetings featuring Iwami Town PR characters 'Iwamin' and 'Iwatobi-chan,' as well as Samezuka Academy's school festival mascot 'Samezuka-chan,' are also scheduled, making this an unmissable event for fans.
