Kotoura Environmental Forum 2026

About this event

Towards achieving zero carbon by 2050, Kotoura Town is hosting the "Kotoura Environmental Forum 2026" to provide an opportunity for both children and adults to enjoy learning about the environment and connect it to everyday eco-actions. The forum is divided into a morning session and an afternoon session. The morning session, titled "Waste Turns into Paper! Papermaking Experience," challenges participants to try papermaking using recycled paper such as milk cartons. After learning about waste sorting and resource recycling mechanisms in a fun way, participants will actually experience papermaking and can take home the completed original postcard. This program is for kindergarteners (must be accompanied by a guardian) up to junior high school students and their guardians, requiring advance registration (capacity of 30 people, first-come-first-served basis). The afternoon session, "Kotoura Environmental Forum," features experts, local companies, civic action groups, and local junior high school students taking the stage to introduce environmental initiatives and zero-carbon efforts underway in Kotoura Town in a panel discussion format. Each will share environmental efforts and daily eco-actions from their respective standpoints, aiming for content that makes attendees feel that there is something they can do too. It aims to serve as a catalyst for starting everyday eco-actions such as sorting plastic resources and saving energy, and this session can be attended without advance registration. This event is eligible for Eco Action Points, granting 200 points upon scanning the 2D code at the venue. It is also an eligible event for the Eco-Friendly Advantage "Nattoku" Campaign; participating during the campaign period allows you to enter the stamp rally to win original Eco Toripy stickers or wonderful prizes via lottery.
