10th Sekishu Kagura Festival 2026

An Iwami Kagura festival held in Hamada by the Youth Division of the Central Hamada Sekishu Iwami Kagura Troupe Liaison Council. Inviting guest troupes from the east, west, and south to the center, a grand Kagura stage will be presented in early autumn at the Sano venue. Feel the passion celebrating this year's 10th anniversary! Program: 1. Chigaeshi - Mikawa Nishi Kagura Preservation Society 2. Jinmu (Southern Guest) - Shimokobara Nishigumi Kagura Troupe (Kanagi-cho) 3. Jinrin - Hamada City Hall Staff Iwami Kagura Club 4. Benkei (Eastern Guest) - Tanisumigo Kagura Troupe (Gotsu City) 5. Tenkei - Iwami Kagura Sano Kagura Troupe 6. Onisumiyama (Western Guest) - Takatsu Kagura Troupe 7. Yamato Takeru no Mikoto - Iwami Kagura Nagahama Troupe 8. Orochi - Iwami Jindai Kagura Kamitono Troupe 9. Ichijo Modoribashi (Cross-border Guest) - Miyanoki Kagura Troupe (Hiroshima Prefecture) 10. Oeyama - Ushirono Kagura Troupe A rich variety of performances will be showcased, from dynamic sword dances and the Eastern Expedition of Emperor Jinmu to the dance of two deities and two demons, the battle between Ushiwakamaru and Benkei, Taira no Masakado's dream, Takatsu's original choreography, fresh traditional Kagura, the flawlessly coordinated Orochi serpent dance, the realistic dramatic dance of retrieving Ibaraki Doji's severed arm heading towards Mt. Oe, and the final climactic battle against Shuten Doji.
