21st Izumo Myth Festival Fireworks Display

The "Izumo Myth Festival" is held annually in Izumo City, Shimane Prefecture. In 2026, it is scheduled to be held on Saturday, August 22, with fireworks launched into the sky over the Hii River. The fireworks can be enjoyed from 20:00 to 20:40, and the overall event runs from 18:00 to 20:40 (tentative). Around the venue, stage events and food stalls will be held, allowing visitors to fully enjoy this Izumo summer tradition. In 2026 as well, spectator seating is scheduled to be set up as a reward for crowdfunding backers. The magnificent production unfolding in the land that was the setting of myths will color the night sky alongside live brass band music, making it brilliant and full of impact. As a related event, the "Izumo Bon Odori" will also be held on Saturday, August 8 (cancelled in stormy weather). While the number of fireworks launched is not disclosed, artistic fireworks coloring the Izumo night sky are anticipated. The venue is Otsu Kandachi Riverside Park in Izumo City, Shimane Prefecture, accessible by bus from JR Izumo-shi Station or via the Ichibata Railway.
