About this event
Held in Gotsu City, Shimane Prefecture, the "1st Gotsu Mobility Festival 2026" is a hands-on event where people can enjoy learning about traffic safety and disaster prevention. Everyone from children to seniors can participate. Through various vehicles, ranging from everyday automobiles to the latest mobility technologies, visitors can deepen their understanding of traffic safety and disaster preparedness. Public organizations and companies including the Police, Fire Department, Self-Defense Forces, Japan Coast Guard, and JR West are co-hosting, uniting the public and private sectors to solve regional issues and revitalize the community. At the event, exhibitions of vehicles rarely seen up close—such as patrol cars, police motorcycles, earthquake simulation vehicles, and SDF special vehicles—as well as displays of the latest EV models will show how they can be utilized during disasters. Real train equipment and a mock railroad crossing display by JR West, a mini train display by Gotsu Technical High School, and uniform try-on experiences with the Police, Fire Department, Self-Defense Forces, Coast Guard, and JR will also be available for commemorative photos. Furthermore, insurance company booths will offer earthquake simulation via VR, safety classes for children, and various other programs. Visitors can also savor autumnal gourmet foods, with food stalls and kitchen cars coming from outside the city. Packed with merchandise sales, workshops, massages, and more, the program can be enjoyed across generations. Admission is free, and the event will proceed in light rain.
