About this event

Held in Iinan Town, Shimane Prefecture, 'Kotobikiyama TRAIL RUNNING 2026 - The Origin of Kamiarizuki -' is a trail running event where participants can fully enjoy Mount Kotobiki, known as the land where the Month of the Gods begins, and the Shimane Prefectural Forest 'Nagae Traverse Route.' The first half features forest roads, while the second half offers a refreshing, rustic sky-run course. Towards the end, the course is designed for beginner and intermediate runners to feel the breath of the gods characteristic of Izumo Province, featuring 360-degree panoramic views from the summit of Mount Kotobiki, Kotohikiyama Shrine, and the Ogami Rock. The running distance is 20 km, with a cumulative elevation gain of 1,133 m and a trail ratio of 43%. The start and finish point is Kotobiki Forest Park Ski Resort. At aid stations, salt tablets will be distributed at registration, water only will be provided at the 6 km point entrance to the Rindo Kusatoge Line, and food (details being adjusted), water, Cola, and Aquarius will be provided at the 11 km point Nagae Observation Deck. Special hospitality at the goal area is also currently being arranged. The main venue is fully equipped with restrooms and men's and women's changing rooms. Free parking for 800 vehicles is available at Kotobiki Forest Park Ski Resort. The participation fee is 7,000 yen (flat rate), and the capacity is 200 participants. The entry deadline is Sunday, September 13, 2026. The organizer is the Kotobikiyama Appeal Enhancement Executive Committee.
