About this event
Held in the Sanada Sajiki area of Yoshika Town, Shimane Prefecture, the "Red Buckwheat Blossom Viewing Festival" is a beautiful event where rare red buckwheat blossoms dye entire fields pink. Held since 2008, it attracts many tourists from inside and outside the prefecture every year. At the venue, visitors can enjoy a bazaar featuring local products and kagura performances. In particular, the handmade soba noodles made from freshly harvested buckwheat and red buckwheat, which can only be tasted at this blossom viewing gathering, are a major highlight for many attendees. The executive committee is run by volunteers, serving as an important venue for strengthening local community ties. Held in late October during the peak blooming season of red buckwheat flowers, it is one of Yoshika Town's signature events where visitors can enjoy the flowers while experiencing local flavors and culture.
