Lighting up the remote Oki Islands with vibrant illumination, "Tomoshibi Matsuri 2026" is a community exchange festival held at Mizuwakasu Shrine in Okinoshima Town, Oki District, Shimane Prefecture. Aiming to recreate the bustling gatherings and interpersonal connections once found in the town in a modern form, this 2nd edition of the festival is an event that can be enjoyed together by children and adults, local residents, and newcomers alike. Approximately 600 colorful, gorgeous lanterns decorate the grounds of Mizuwakasu Shrine, combining with the solemn atmosphere of the shrine to create a rich, magical space. In addition, various attractions are prepared across different areas, including a live music stage, a food stall village, and workshop corners, captivating all visitors. Set in a special atmosphere woven from light and sound, it will be a day that plants a warm, memorable spark in children's hearts. The event is held from 12:00 to 21:00, and joining midway or staying for a short time is warmly welcomed. In case of rain, the event will be postponed to the following day.
