27th Sakushu Folk Crafts & Artisans Exhibition

This exhibition and market showcases a diverse collection of handmade folk crafts created by 9 members of the Tsuyama Folk Art Association across various disciplines. Featured items that are a pleasure just to view include bamboo dragonflies and insects, bamboo twelve zodiac figurines, ceramic wares ideal for daily use such as cups, plates, and flower vases, handmade washi paper, wooden crafts like spoons and cups, illustrated shikishi cards with thoughtful phrases, Japanese-style clothing and pouches, patchwork decorations and bags, and traditional Japanese umbrellas (wagasa). In addition, visitors can experience hands-on crafting of ceramic Sheep (Hitsuji) figurines for the upcoming zodiac year. Take this opportunity to discover the rich traditions and heartfelt craftsmanship of the Sakushu region.
