[2026] Fukiya Art Exhibition

About this event

This is an art event held in Fukiya, which flourished through copper mining and bengara (red iron oxide pigment) and is certified as a Japan Heritage site as the birthplace of 'Japan Red'. Art colors the lyrical townscape of Fukiya. On Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays during the period, lighting displays will also be presented at the Former Fukiya Elementary School, allowing you to discover new charms of the townscape. Works by 7 artists will be exhibited, offering an opportunity to enjoy Fukiya in an atmosphere different from usual. During the event period, admission fees at the Former Katayama Family Residence, the Local Museum, and the Former Fukiya Elementary School will include the art viewing fee. Related events such as guided tours by artists, Bicchu Kagura, workshops, and Japanese taiko drumming will also be held.
