44th Nonkeyland Furusato Festival

About this event

The "Nonkeyland Furusato Festival" will be held to brighten the summer of Higashimokoto. The main event is "Roll Korogashi Dottenkoku," in which 4-person teams roll hay bales weighing 500 kg for men and 300 kg for women, competing for time to the finish line. The heated race gets spectators cheering intensely while retaining a pastoral atmosphere. Other attractions include a fresh vegetable sale, a goodwill charity sale, vendor stalls, administrative consultation booths, a children's plaza (kids' fair/mini games, etc.), fun games, and an outdoor barbecue featuring Higashimokoto beef and Shiretoko beef. The stage event will feature guest appearances by prominent enka singers, and a raffle offers a chance to win lavish prizes including local specialty products. In case of rain, the barbecue, stage events, and raffle will be held at an alternate venue.
