About this event

The 13th Akari no Sanpomichi, held along the Saijo Sakagura-dori (Sake Brewery Street) in Higashihiroshima City, is a beautiful event where sake breweries and chimneys are fantastically illuminated. During the event, handheld paper lanterns are available for rent, allowing you to stroll along the illuminated brewery street. In addition, the Chimney Guide, held only once a year, lets you experience the charm of the red-brick chimneys that serve as symbols of the sake brewery street. Furthermore, the unique 8th National Chidoriashi Championship is held, where you can enjoy the full-effort performances of the contestants. Interactive activities such as the Word Search Challenge, where participants look for hidden characters on wall-hung lanterns, are also prepared, offering fun for adults and children alike. It is a perfect event for long autumn evenings, allowing you to fully enjoy the atmospheric night view of the illuminated Saijo Sakagura-dori.
