The 78th Geiseki Kagura Competition

The "Geiseki Kagura Competition," a pioneer among competition tournaments boasting nearly 80 years of history, will be held on October 3, 2026, at Kumahira Park Kitahiroshima (Chiyoda Athletic Park General Gymnasium). Numerous Kagura troupes—including Sanno Kagura Troupe, Nakakawado Kagura Troupe, Yoshiwa Kagura Troupe, Takazaru Kagura Troupe, Harada Kagura Troupe, Iwami Kagura Kameyama Shachu, Otsuka Kagura Troupe, Ikadatsu Kagura Troupe, Yokota Kagura Troupe, Matsubara Kagura Troupe, and Kinsho Kagura Troupe—will perform a diverse variety of programs, including competitive modern dances (Shinmai), competitive classic dances (Kyumai), ceremonial dances, and special performances. Starting with the ceremonial dance "Kamioroshi," performances will follow including Tsuchigumo, Oeyama, Momijigari, Kannabi, Rashomon, Goshin, Takiyashahime, Shoki, Ibukiyama, and Jinrin. A special performance of "Yoshitsune Oshu Hiraizumi" by the Kinsho Kagura Troupe is also scheduled. Doors open at 9:30, and the performance begins at 10:30. Reserved seat tickets go on sale on September 6 at 10:00 AM at Roadside Station Mai Road IC Chiyoda Administration Building, and will subsequently also be sold at the Kitahiroshima Town Tourist Information Center inside Roadside Station Mai Road IC Chiyoda. Advance tickets for unreserved general seating will be handled at Shopping Center Thanks, Roadside Station Mai Road IC Chiyoda Kitahiroshima Town Tourist Information Center, Hiroshima Yume Plaza, and Comm's Asa Park. Video recording inside the venue is prohibited; photography is permitted only from designated camera seats. Food and beverage stalls (bazaar) will also be available.
