About this event

This is a special opportunity where four Heian period Buddha statues preserved in Sera and Otanojo are exhibited together. Two statues of the Eleven-Headed Kannon Bodhisattva, designated as National Important Cultural Properties, gather at Konkoyasan Ryuge-ji Temple, while a standing statue of the Eleven-Headed Kannon Bodhisattva and a standing statue of Sho Kannon Bodhisattva gather at Kosodate Kannon / Former Hoon-ji Temple. It is a rare chance to encounter Buddha statues passed down across more than 1,000 years. For transportation guidance to the venues, volunteer guided tours are available from Roadside Station Sera and Chugoku Bus Kozan Office. The event is organized by the NPO Hiroshima Sera Mulberry Club History Department "Sera Jonetsu Kobo," co-organized by the Sera District Cultural Properties Association, and sponsored by the Niiyama Neighborhood Association Education and Culture Department.
