Yamaguchi Autumn Bon Odori 2026

About this event

This is a Bon Odori dance event created through a collaboration between musician Otomo Yoshihide and the citizens of Yamaguchi. Dancers will move to live music played by the civic orchestra "Yamaguchi Yuan Orchestra," performing the original Bon Odori piece "Yamaguchi Bon Uta," co-created by citizen volunteers, Otomo Yoshihide, contemporary Ondo composer Yamanaka Camera, and dancer Fukudome Mari. In addition to "Yamaguchi Bon Uta," a total of 5 songs will be presented, including "Ouchi no Otonosama," a Bon dance associated with Yamaguchi City. Held in cooperation with local shopping arcades, the event aims to become an autumn tradition in Yamaguchi City. The program consists of two parts: Children's Bon Odori (14:30–15:00) and the Main Bon Odori (16:30–20:00, with a break from 17:30 to 18:30). Admission is free, and anyone can participate on the day with no prior registration required. The event will proceed in light rain, but will be canceled in the event of severe weather.
