Astronomy Class: Harvest Moon Observation Gathering

This event allows you to observe the harvest moon (Chushu no Meigetsu), considered the most beautiful moon of the year, through telescopes with guidance from Science Center staff. Why not enjoy moon viewing (tsukimi) together during this period, which is also popularly known as 'Jugoya'—a time to appreciate the moon while giving thanks for the autumn harvest? No advance registration is required; interested participants should gather at the venue during event hours. The area around the observation terrace is lawn, so bringing a picnic mat will allow you to spend a relaxing evening gazing at the moon. The event will be cancelled in case of bad weather, and any cancellation will be announced on the Science Center website by 17:00 on the day of the event.
