Held at Akiyoshidai Family Village in Mine City, Yamaguchi Prefecture, 'Satoyama Fest in Akiyoshidai' is an event packed with outdoor experiences for the whole family to enjoy while surrounded by the rich nature of Akiyoshidai. A wide variety of activities are prepared, including a forest amusement park, woodworking craft experiences, a log sawing competition, a persimmon peeling competition, a wild game (gibier) food tasting corner, and chainsaw art demonstrations. In addition, gourmet foods such as stone-oven pizza and pompora rice can be enjoyed, and various bazaars and food trucks will also be open. Furthermore, held concurrently with the 'Japan Camping Rally' hosted by Japan Auto Camping, the eve-of-festival event offers lodging guests exclusive treats such as wild game dishes, pompora sake tastings, and toasted marshmallow experiences. During the main festival, Souen Taiko drum performances, outdoor cooking, tent setup workshops, wood and bamboo craft workshops, fire-making experiences, and tuk-tuk rides will be conducted, while the night session offers a starry sky viewing session and campfire exclusively for overnight guests. On the final day, bamboo coaster making, a mobile zoo, nature craft experiences, a photo contest award ceremony, and mochi and sweets scattering are also scheduled, making it an event where visitors can fully savor the charms of Akiyoshidai.
