Held in the Shishikui district of Kaiyo Town at the southernmost tip of Tokushima Prefecture, the 'Tokushima Kaiyo Open Water Swim 2026' is a swimming race held in waters surrounded by rich nature. This area features an intricate coastline, islands of various sizes, unique rock formations, and beautiful seas inhabited by colorful tropical fish and corals, making it known as an optimal field for marine sports. The 2.1 km class takes place inside the bay designated as Takegashima Marine Park, where even beginners can participate with peace of mind and enjoy underwater viewing. Meanwhile, the 3.7 km class is a more challenging course navigating through the Pacific waves and scattered islands. Participants can gain a valuable experience challenging their limits through the race in the magnificent sea of Kaiyo Town. Open water swimming is a general term for swimming races conducted in natural bodies of water such as oceans, rivers, and lakes.
