Nishi-Awa Summer Strawberry Festival
Japanese name:にし阿波 夏いちごまつり
📅 Sat, Aug 29, 2026
About this event
The 'Nishi-Awa' region of Tokushima Prefecture was the first in Japan to successfully establish commercial production of 'summer strawberries', which are rare nationwide, and is known as a town where strawberries bear fruit year-round. This time, the 'Nishi-Awa Summer Strawberry Festival', a hands-on event showcasing the charm of the local specialty 'summer strawberries', will be held. At the venue, there is plenty of content for children and adults to enjoy. Starting with free tastings of morning-picked summer strawberries, events such as a strawberry sugar-content guessing quiz, sales of limited sweets, and original badge making will be conducted. In addition, you can enjoy giveaways for those answering the SNS post survey, as well as food promotion items such as shaved ice summer strawberries, summer strawberry crepes, and summer strawberry squash. Furthermore, a strawberry farming consultation session will be held, offering an opportunity to connect with local agriculture.
