The Shidenkai Exhibition Hall in Ainan Town is bringing its 46-year history to a close, hosting the "Shidenkai Exhibition Hall Final Event 2026" to mark its last summer before closing. The event is structured in two parts, "Thank You, Shidenkai Exhibition Hall" and "Hello, Shidenkai Exhibition Hall," themed around conveying visitors' sentiments through the power of manga. In "Thank You, Shidenkai Exhibition Hall," visitors can write messages on life-size manga character panels and participate in a manga creation workshop led by manga artists. Guest appearances include notable manga artists such as Soichi Sumoto, known for "Shidenkai 343," along with Takeshi Nogami, Kei Hazuki, and Mei Renjoji. Meanwhile, "Hello, Shidenkai Exhibition Hall" features an illustration contest inspired by the new exhibition hall scheduled to open in fiscal year 2027, accepting entries depicting future scenes of the facility. The program also includes the announcement of contest winners, a voice acting workshop, and manga artist autograph sessions, allowing visitors to experience the worlds of manga and voice acting. The Shidenkai aircraft will continue to be displayed at the new exhibition hall opening next fiscal year.
