About this event

The "Tosa Food Culture Heritage Lecture," aimed at passing Kochi Prefecture's rich food culture on to the future, will be held in Kahoku, Kami City. Conducted as a related event to "Yosakoi Kochi Cultural Festival 2026," certified "Tosa Culinary Tradition Masters" will serve as instructors to pass down exceptional knowledge and techniques regarding local regional cuisine. In this lecture, through explanations and cooking practice, participants can learn traditional dishes seasoned with citrus vinegars like yuzu, starting with "Tosa Inaka Sushi" (country-style sushi), which has long been eaten in the mountainous areas of Kochi Prefecture, as well as "Sumashijiru" (clear soup), "Taimushi" (steamed sea bream), and "Inaka Manju" (country buns). This is a valuable opportunity to experience regional food culture that is gradually being lost and recreate it at home.
