Hokkaido Samani Town Exchange Program: "Mount Apoi Climbing Gathering" 2026

About this event

A 3-day event to visit Samani Town in Hokkaido, a friendship town of Noda Village, and enjoy climbing Mount Apoi—the symbol of the town—along with trail exchange activities at Mt. Apoi Geopark. Mount Apoi is certified as a UNESCO Global Geopark; despite its modest elevation of 810 meters, it is home to a diverse array of alpine plants, including endemic species such as Hidakasou (Callianthemum miyabeanum) and Ezokozorina (Hypochaeris crepidioides). Through this exchange program, participants will deepen connections with one another while experiencing Mount Apoi's unique geology and rich natural environment. It is an event where new scenery and encounters can be anticipated.
