About this event
Matsuri Hisayama 2026 is the town's largest lifelong learning event, held every October in Hisayama Town, Fukuoka Prefecture. Its purpose is to deepen mutual friendship and interaction among residents, cultivate hometown awareness, and promote the development of a cheerful, comfortable community to live in. Organized by an executive committee formed by various town organizations, it features a diverse lineup of activities including bazaar stalls, public artwork exhibitions showcasing daily achievements, workshops, and stage presentations. Concluding the event is a fireworks display—a rarity for this time of year—attracting numerous spectators from neighboring municipalities as well. In 2026, it is scheduled to take place on Sunday, October 18, with recruitment underway for bazaar vendors, stage performers, artwork exhibitors, and "Festival Supporters" to help energize the festivities together.
