2026 Okagaki Town Citizen Cultural Festival

The Okagaki Town Citizen Cultural Festival is the town's largest cultural event, held annually around Culture Day. The Wave Arena hosts an exhibition of works across diverse fields such as painting, calligraphy, and ceramics, while the Humming Hall features powerful stage performances including dance, chorus, instrumental music, and shigin (poetry chanting). Admission is free and open to everyone. In the Artworks division, works spanning varied fields such as ceramics, painting, and calligraphy will be exhibited across the entire Wave Arena, featuring creations not only from regular hobbyists but also from kindergartens, nursery schools, elementary schools, and junior high schools. In the Vocal Music division, stage presentations including chorus, unison singing, and brass band performances will fill the air with moving, beautiful harmonies. In the Popular Song (Karaoke) division, amateur singing enthusiasts will gather for stage karaoke performances with around 50 people performing one after another. In the Performing Arts division, stage performances will cover a wide range of genres such as folk songs, traditional Japanese dance, instrumental music, and modern dance, showcasing performers from children to adults across generations.
