Held annually on the third Saturday and Sunday of April, the Shinkosai Festival of Tsuruoka Hachiman Shrine features local residents working together to pull carts carrying sacred portable shrines (Mikoshi). This festival is a seasonal tradition unique to Kawara Town, animated by community cooperation and living heritage.
